AMSPL-Playoff-Schedule-Week-2-2019

TEAMS RESEEDED
                                    Tie Breakers for first weekend:

1st  (highest seed) to 10th (lowest seed)         First Tiebreaker - Head to Head results

1st – Most Points/Win Tiebreakers                 Second Tiebreaker – Run Differential

10th – Least Points/Lose Tiebreakers            Third Tiebreaker – Run Against

Fourth Tiebreaker – Runs For

Fifth - Coin toss

Note: Tie breakers will be used in order, as posted, until final standings have been determined. There will be no reversion back to a previous tiebreaker.

For example if 3 teams are tied at 2-2 and one team has NOT defeated the other two in head to head results to determine a clear placement order, then run differential will prevail for all teams tied at 2-2.

If a clear placement cannot be made at this stage between two remaining teams because of a tie in run differential, the placement does NOT revert back to head to head results, BUT moves on to Runs against.

The Tie Breaking format is set regardless of pool or inter-pool play and will be calculated on the basis of all 10 teams.

Other Playoff Notes:

  1. Teams must spare up to 11 players for each game. Spares are calculated based on an average of spares missing rounded off. For example if a playoff team has 10 players and they are missing players rated as 7, 5, 1-then the average of players is 4.33 and they must acquire a 4 to play. A player rated as a 4 can be used from the spare list or another playoff team. Captains need to be aware and proactive for playoff games if they know in advance of player shortages.
  2. Mercy, home run and walk rules are same as the regular season-there are no “captain agreements” permitted for any playoff games. i.e. Waiving walk rule due to extreme weather conditions, allowing additional courtesy runners with discretion. Higher rated teams will have the choice of Home or Away team for all playoff games.
